jewelry & watchmaking > Lalique Joaillerie

After designing for the greatest names in fine jewellery from Boucheron to Cartier, René Lalique (1860-1945) began creating jewellery in his own name in 1885. His designs quickly earned him the title of uncontested master of Art Nouveau jewellery. With insatiable curiosity, he took his inspiration from nature to recreate it with magic. His limitless imagination was equalled only by his boldness and talent in representing the female form and the motifs of flora and fauna which he explored meticulously. Lalique gave special attention to crafting materials, modelling their colour and appearance in a search for the most vibrant resemblances to nature.
